- The Heartbeat of Hope and Hustle
A fierce force in Detroit’s reentry revolution, Shirletha Gaskins is the powerhouse behind JustUsNow, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that champions returning citizens and their families with love, strategy, and real results. She’s the architect of The G.R.A.N.D.S. Program, a vibrant initiative where incarcerated& formerly incarcerated men and women reconnect and build bonds with their grandchildren through joyful, healing experiences. - From back-to-school backpack giveaways to kid-centered community events that light up entire neighborhoods, Shirletha crafts spaces where everyone — from toddlers to elders — feels seen, heard, and valued. Through JustUsNow, she provides essential RE-Entry resources, housing support, emotional wellness circles like My Mind Matters Too, and ongoing advocacy that stretches from the grassroots to the courtroom.
